We are seeking an experienced Project Controller for the W80-4 System Team to fill one of our Schedule Coach Roles. These are leadership roles where the Project Controller is responsible for working with multiple Product Realization Teams (PRTs) to review and analyze schedule logic, assess change impacts, and analyze the critical path, just to name a few of the activities. In many cases, mentoring and coaching are also part of this role.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Analyze schedules or earned value reports and provide feedback to PRTs
Mentor and coach other Project Controllers
Review quality of schedules and look for gaps or logic breaks
Coordinate and facilitate communication across the nuclear security enterprise to ensure a high fidelity cohesive integrated master schedule
Review change proposals, ensuring that all changes are documented via the appropriate change control process and properly assessed for impact
Partner with staff, project leads and managers to make recommendations to influence key decision makers within the scope of project controls (work breakdown structure, schedule, and budget/cost)
Bachelor's degree in Business or relevant field plus five or more years of relevant experience (such as experience in Project Controls); or Master’s degree in relevant field plus one or more years of demonstrated experience in Project Controls
Experience with Primavera P6 or MS Project scheduling software (Primavera P6 preferred)
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance
Active Q security clearance
Knowledge of the Nuclear Weapons complex and product realization process.
Experience working with the Department of Energy, the National Nuclear Security Administration, or the Department of Defense
Project management education and certification(s)
Experience with Earned Value Management principles and methodology
Experience working on dynamic teams, including the ability to work effectively with other organizations, project sponsors and customers, and suppliers
8125 is a system level Project Management department that supports the W80-4 LEP. We’re responsible for ensuring the program meets high level programmatic requirements defined by our NNSA customer and several EVMS processes. 8125 partners closely with other sites in the Nuclear Security Enterprise as well as other Sandia PM departments in New Mexico and California.
