ARServices Human Resources Business Partner in Alexandria, Virginia

ARServices is seeking an experienced, highly motivated self-starter capable of working independently and within a team. The Human Resources Business Partner will provide sound, thoughtful advice to CEO, CFO, Talent Acquisition Manager, and EVP on HR best practices and make data-based recommendations to changes in policies and compensation (salaries and benefits) of the workforce. This person will have a strong ability to partner with lines of business on HR needs and requirements.


  • Serve as principal HR advisor to the Executive Leadership Team of a small business in the Government Contracting Professional Services market on matters of human resources, including industry trends and best practices

  • Develop and administer human resources plans and procedures that relate to company personnel

  • Contribute to the development of Human Resources department goals, objectives, and systems

  • Stay informed on latest labor law requirements and ensure compliance

  • Manage day-to-day and open benefits administration and serve as point of contact for benefits vendors

  • Review and Audit Monthly Benefit Invoices

  • Update and maintain employee records, including employee files; conduct file audits

  • Manage I-9 records compliance and records

  • Complete Annual Affirmative Action Reporting and Vets/EEO-1 reporting

  • Manage grievances and conduct investigations

  • Complete exit interviews and out-process employees

  • Administer HRIS including data entry, QA and reporting

  • Track and report on 30-60-90 stay interviews

  • Manage training and development program, including budget, requirements, compliance, as well as management and administration of learning management system

  • Develop and manage internal communications, including content for the ARServices? Employee Portal

  • Manage employee engagement events, such as annual picnic, holiday party, and volunteer events

  • Update and maintain Corporate Health and Safety Plan

  • Collaborate and interface with various levels of internal and external customers

  • Manage Wellness Programs

  • Manage Summer Internship Program

  • Manage employee address/phone book


  • Bachelor?s Degree in a Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience

  • At least 7 years of HR Generalist Experience in Employee Relations and Benefits Administration

  • Previous experience supporting a federal government contractor providing professional services and support

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

    Desired Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial Psychology or other related, relevant field

  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification(s)

  • Experience with Deltek CostPoint

  • Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of goals.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint.

  • Experience with HR software, including HRIS systems
