Your Role and Responsibilities
The Resiliency Project Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) for IBM’s Strategic Outsourcing Customers. The disaster recovery plans must be viable and exercised demonstrating to management the organization's ability to continue data processing operations following a disruption of services. The Consultant is also responsible to lead the recovery effort in the event of an outage emergency.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
Develop Disaster Recovery Plans to meet client’s defined and contracted DR objectives
Coordinate IBM delivery team efforts in the development of new DR plans
Coordinate 3 rd parties, as required, to meet DR plan requirements
Work with clients to ensure they understand the limitations and exclusions of their DR plans
Work with the IBM Account Teams to ensure they understand their DR responsibilities as they relate to their client
Develop exercise objectives with client input
Schedule the DR exercise
Develop and publish the Pre-Exercise Report to outline exercise objectives and details
Develop the exercise timeline
Hold pre-exercise meetings with all delivery teams to ensure individual responsibilities and tasks are understood
Project manage the DR exercise including coordination of all delivery teams and tracking of the recovery timeline
Develop and publish the Post Exercise Report to document the results of the exercise
Develop the action plan to follow-up and close all outstanding actions from the exercise
On a regular basis (as outlined the client contract) review and maintain the existing DR plans
Ensure all action items from the previous exercise have been closed
Ensure all changes to the environment since the last exercise are incorporated into the DR Plan
Make suggestions for improvement of existing DR Plans to both the client and IBM Account Teams as appropriate
Working in conjunction with the IBM Account Team, recover the assigned clients per contractual commitments
Handover the recovered environment to the IBM steady state delivery teams
Assist in the development of plans to return to the home environment
Knowledge of and experience with Mainframe & distributed data or applications recovery in a DR test environment
At least 3 years experience in Disaster Recovery
Project Management methodology experience
Experience with Disaster Recovery Plan development
Exposure/Knowledge across multiple platforms, processes or architecture
DRI certification preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be a self-starter, motivated to enhance and expand Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and be able to guide and influence fellow team members through initiative and active participation
Excellent Customer interface skills
Ability to recognize and articulate Client issues/problems related to the Disaster Recovery process
Strong problem solving/decision making skills
Expectations on work hours:
There is an expectation that the candidate will have to provide support to DR exercises outside the normal work hours at IBM a few times a year. Exercises are conducted over several days and round the clock support is required by the team by covering 12 hour shifts. These 12 hour shifts may be during the day or night depending on scheduling for the exercise.

• Knowledge of and experience with Mainframe & distributed data or applications recovery in a DR test environment
• Project Management methodology experience
• Exposure/Knowledge across multiple platforms, processes or architecture
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• DRI certification preferred
• Experience with Disaster Recovery Plan development
• Knowledge of MS Project
