The primary functions of this position are to assist the Counterparty Credit Risk team in: - monitoring credit exposure created by trading activity and providing exposure summaries for management - conducting counterparty credit assessments/analyses and maintaining appropriate file documentation. This person will help assess and manage the risks (particularly credit risk) for trading counterparties in the various Capital Markets trading products including Fixed Income Derivatives, Equity Derivatives, Foreign Exchange, Repo and Fixed Income trading. Responsibilities include conducting ongoing credit analyses and risk assessments on existing and new trading counterparties; writing annual and ad-hoc counterparty credit reviews; monitoring exposure relative to approved limits and resolving limit exceptions; monitoring daily trading activities and maintaining regular contact with traders and sales staff to ensure that policies and procedures are followed. The position may also entail review and approval of trading documents (ISDA, CSA's, MSFTA's, MRA's and MSLA's).

This position also serves as a resource for client managers throughout the bank who may require guidance when setting new credit limits for counterparties, understanding risk methodologies .and explaining the risks of Capital Markets Products. There is frequent interaction with personnel from multiple departments and roles (sales & trading front office staff, legal, credit areas, market risk, regulators systems, operations etc.).

The candidate for this role should have preferably a solid credit analysis and underwriting foundation with an emphasis on financial institutions, or an understanding of capital markets products, particularly interest rate and fixed income derivatives, FX, equity derivatives, repo, total rate of return swaps etc. Qualifications Basic Requirements:

  • 2 years experience in the financial industry, enterprise risk management, or related experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial statements and ratio comprehension, banking laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills, advanced skills in using MS Office suite.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills and presentation experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field such as finance or accounting. Preferred Requirements

  • Masters degree in a related field such as finance, accounting or risk management.
