JOB TITLE: Manager, Foodservice Programs
REPORTS TO: Director, Food & Trade
JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager, Foodservice Programs role has P&L responsibility for the retail performance of their division. The role will lead and manage the Café Coordinator as well as Café Field Trainers.
The Manager will be responsible for developing the merchandise strategy, assortment selection, pricing, promotions and executes the plan with their team, vendor and internal partners.
This role will drive vendor selection and negotiation of product purchase, terms and on-going relationships. The Manager will stay current with market and competitor trends, will plan, purchase, communicate and control merchandise for multiple categories in order to maximize sales and margin to contribute to the business and financial goals of the division.
The Manager will also be accountable for all Café Operations and Learning & Development for the Field.
This role will be required to travel to stores with all levels of Field Management to look for ways to increase sales and profits and leverages the learning’s; Act as a change Ambassador.
While this position's location is listed in Basking Ridge, NJ, we will also consider candidates based in the East Coast.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Drive innovation and newness into the Café Business
Research and Develop new products for both Café and Fresh Food Programs
Manage, develop and lead Home Office team
Partner with marketing to create in store marketing programs to support the business growth and revenue dollars both trade and marketing
Manage Nestle, Starbucks, US Foods and other critical relationships day to day
Collaborate with Design and Construction for all Café and Fresh Food projects
Ensure business plan is executed properly: pricing, distribution and promotional plans
Negotiate with manufacturers, distributors and other vendor partners to create products, marketing/promotional programs and gain additional revenue dollars
Manage Operations and Learning & Development for Café
Lead team to successfully provide operational consistency throughout the company
Oversee Quality Assurance and Store Visit Schedules
Ensure training tools and materials are current with business assortment and strategy
Work closely with Field Management to provide guidance and support
Additional responsibilities as required
Complies at all times with the Standards, Policies and Code of Business Conduct and Ethics as outlined in the Employee Handbook
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
4 to 6 years of restaurant, food service or retail experience managing multiple stores, departments or units, P&L, inventory, operations and customer service
4 + years of training, coaching with strong leadership and communication skills
2 + years of buying or sourcing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, teamwork as well as the interpersonal skills to present ideas to individuals and groups
Strong project management, financial and analytical skills
Ability to work with outside groups, vendors and partners to achieve organizational goals
Creative thinking ability to develop fresh perspectives and new ideas while developing workable implementation plans
Self-motivated, proactive and able to work in a rapidly changing environment
Must be able to travel 40% of each month to meetings and stores, potentially using various forms of transportation
Must be able to lift up to 40lbs. when working and merchandising in stores.
Proficient at Excel, Word, and Power Point
