HealthFitness Customer Service Supervisor (part-time) in Bethel, Alaska
HealthFitness is looking for a skilled and highly motivated individual to join our team as a part-time (10-20 hrs/wk) Customer Service Supervisor at the Yukon Kuskokwim Fitness Center in Bethel, AK. In this position, you will provide a safe, positive environment by assuring staff and patrons are following facility policies and regulations and making sure the facility is clean and functioning. You will respond to issues or emergencies and assist with oversight, leading, and training of Operations Staff (Lifeguards, Front Desk and Facility Attendants) in a positive professional manner.
Qualified candidates must have a flexible schedule with evening and weekend availability and be a Certified Lifeguard or able to obtain Lifeguard Certification within 30 days of hire.
Administer and follow all Fitness Center guidelines in order to ensure the safety of members, guests, and staff.
Assist Mangers with administrative tasks
Assure facility is clean, safe, and well maintained.
Assure safe, customer friendly facility operations.
Communicate with management any issues needing attention.
Provide support and oversite to Operations Staff, including coaching, mentoring, and training.
Respond to incidents or emergencies in a calm, professional manner.
Assist with Operations Duties at Front Desk, Facility Attendant, or Lifeguard positions as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification or ability to obtain Lifeguard Certification within 30 days of hire (swim test may be required for uncertified candidates) required.
Safe Serve certification required within 30 days of hire.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all ages of staff and patrons.
Qualified candidates must be comfortable using computers and willing and able to learn point of sale software.
Ability to work independently, problem solve, and make decisions with limited supervision.
Strong skills in multi-tasking and the ability to remain calm and professional while completing multiple tasks at once or responding to emergency situations.
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands to effectively complete work assignments.
At least two years of customer service experience preferred.
Management and/or Lifeguard Experience preferred.
Facility Attendant (janitorial/custodial) experience a plus.
