BMS is seeking to recruit a permanent Site Procurement buyer (Direct Mat’l) located at the Boudry manufacturing facility based in Switzerland. Reporting to the Associate Director, Site Procurement Leader at the site, the site Buyer will lead the local sourcing efforts for all Direct Raw Materials, Packaging Components & Device related activities. This position will maintain strong alignment to the manufacturing network strategy and initiatives, support the business with close partnership with the site management team, and engage closely with any appropriate sister sites within the GPS network to ensure best value for individual site and network. The Site Procurement buyer must display excellent communication skills to all internal stakeholders, senior leadership and suppliers.
Key responsibilities will include:
Maintain continuity of current Good Manufacturing Procedures (cGMP) Direct material supply for manufacturing operations at the Boudry facility by managing suppliers and engaging directly with site stakeholders as well as global teams.
The Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (SS&P) Buyer Boudry, will manage procure to pay transactions, enforce policies and internal controls, and provide support for end-users in addition to managing vendor relationships and interactions.
Will work closely with internal stakeholders within the Business Units, Procurement, Supply Chain, Payables and other Finance/Admin functions to ensure a seamless Source to pay business process, while providing a high level of customer service.
Lead Boudry and Region-based efforts for standardization of raw materials and consumables and drive delivery of cost savings including alternate/secondary sourcing of materials for cost savings/avoidance for all categories category.
Supporting Supply Chain in P2P program including: order confirmation, change requests, material master updates, expedites and RMA’s.
Collaborates with Supply Chain Planning stakeholders to understand and analyse consumption of materials, monitor deliveries with suppliers for deliveries arriving close to need by dates and expedite as required.
Negotiate deliveries with suppliers and escalate as needed through Procurement when deliveries are not aligned to support production needs.
Investigates, resolves and records problems such as invoice discrepancies, damages, over shipments, etc.
Contract management, creation of legal documents and templates, supporting LOIs, SOWs and MSAs across the site and network
Ensures pricing, quantity and compliance information related to preferred supplier/vendor, and communicates with suppliers and site personnel as needed.
Achieve and exceed metrics including value beyond savings, purchase price variance (PPV), receipt to promise (RTP), inventory, and invoicing compliance.
Lead Supplier Relationship Management programs as requested and aligned with Category Leads.
Lead Regional sub-category strategy development and execution in conjunction with relevant category lead.
Lead annual budget process for the site operations, working closely with category leaders, site finance, site supply chain, general management and GP finance with “right first time” standards.
Support cGMP or Finance audit activities, as required, and in alignment with site quality and finance operations. Escalate supply-related audit requests as required.
Identifies local suppliers, best practices and ensure local perspective inclusion in larger global initiative.
Ensures alignment with globally set policies and overlapping flow-charts for all standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Manages accurate reporting of Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI’s) for supplier performance and compliance to contracted terms.
Maintains timely control of documents and data to assure accurate retention of records and audit compliance and governance.
Identifies opportunities for efficiency improvements in the utilization of SAP, leads projects to gather business requirements, identifies and tests potential solutions. Implements proven solutions to improve efficiency and documents SOP’s/training.
Develops effective relationships with key suppliers in a way that builds mutual respect, trust and drives performance in a manner consistent with the BMS pledge.
Works with department heads to identify new opportunities and involves Procurement for overall strategy alignment and seeks ways to improve overall service performance.
Provide Supplier Diversity vision and strategic direction for the site, leads Diversity initiatives & publishes diversity metrics and measures performance
Daily contacts with General Managers, Materials Directors, Site Department Heads, Central Sourcing and Suppliers Frequent contact with Global Procurement Category Leaders and Supplier Diversity Leaders
Contact with Site/HQ Finance as required
Essential experience and behaviours:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience required.
Relevant work experience in Procurement, Supply Chain and/or Planning, CPM/CPIM/CPSM preferred. Experience with direct procurement preferred.
Possess exceptional communication skills and be able to communicate to multiple levels within the company and at suppliers.
The ideal candidate is highly experienced in SAP Procurement module. Additional experience in Supply Chain, MRP Planning and Inventory modules strongly preferred. Proficiency in other ERP systems may be acceptable.
Previous experience collaborating cross-functionally and implementing efficiency improvements in ERP systems.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using ARIBA desired.
Procurement skills such as developing relationships with suppliers, expediting, prioritizing and negotiating deliveries, analysing and reporting on supplier performance.
Prior cGMP experience in biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and/or medical device industry is highly preferred. Comparable controlled industries may be acceptable.
Positive, collaborative approach to problem solving. Demonstrated success working in a team environment.
Thrives working in a fast-paced environment and proven ability to manage multiple projects/tasks effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally as critical member of site team.

Understanding on the methodology, process and guidelines for conducting and implementing an efficient/effective indirect sourcing project
Understanding of systems and their implications to the operation and strategic impact on the business.
