What you’ll do
Reporting through to the Cardiff Site Leader and based in Cardiff, this role is responsible for the day to day facilities management and Environmental, Health and Safety leadership of our Cardiff site in the UK.
The successful candidate will lead a team of facilities engineers and EHS professionals to maintain the buildings and facilities at the Cardiff site and to coordinate all Health and Safety Arrangements.
The successful candidate will be accountable for managing the facility and ensuring the needs of the site are met with respect to the Cytiva EHS Management System. The role will develop, implement and evaluate safety policies and procedures and may be involved in the compliance and assurance of product EHS.
To provide authority and leadership with respect to the running of the facilities including the development of strategies, programs and training to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and company standards to improve safety and reduce/eliminate EHS related business risks.
To Support the Site Master Plan in terms of understanding the long-term space requirements for the Cardiff business and facilitating solutions through the integration of EHS and Danaher Business Systems (DBS) Continuous Improvement philosophy.
Management and Training for associates from an EHS, Facilities and Security pespective
Accountability for the building management and maintenance of the Cardiff facility.
Capital investment management for site infrastructure in line with site needs
Setting up, driving and continually improving the EHS program to include establishing responsibilities, risk reduction and performance management.
Evaluating facility EHS conditions, risks and developing appropriate action plans.
Providing EHS guidance and support to the site(s) to ensure compliance with regulatory and program requirements.
Participating in EHS compliance and program activities to ensure the safety, health and wellbeing of employees, others and the environment.
Act as the Point of Contact for Local EHS regulators, assisting with technical, regulatory/third party interfacing to support permitting, compliance and adherence to regulatory programs and Cytiva corporate policies.
Setting up and maintaining emergency preparedness programs, EHS inspections, risk assessments, initiatives and reviews and training.
Supporting EHS and engineering project initiatives.
Performing associated and other duties as required.
Analysing and maintaining EHS records, metrics and systems and reporting performance.
Who you are
Demonstrated leadership in a position of authority.
Qualified Health, Safety / Environment practitioner holding a NEBOSH / British safety council Diploma (or equivalent). Ideally Chartered or working towards becoming Chartered
Experience in Health, Safety and Environment activities ideally within a manufacturing environment.
Regulatory knowledge, familiarity or experience working within the UK framework.
