Guggenheim Services, LLC Corporate Actions Senior Associate in Chicago, Illinois

Guggenheim Partners is seeking an exceptional Sr. Associate to join its Corporate Actions team. Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Actions, this person will join a highly collaborative team responsible for ensuring that mandatory and voluntary Corporate Action Events for Fixed Income and Equity securities, as well as Proxy Votes, are processed on a timely and accurate basis. Additionally, this person will assist management with drafting processes and procedures.

The Corporate Actions Sr. Associate will serve as a subject matter expert. In addition, you will be encouraged to improve existing processes and contribute to impactful projects. This role will provide an opportunity to work with various areas of the firm including Legal, Compliance, Other Operation Teams, Trading Desks and Portfolio Managers.

The position is located in Chicago.

  • Manage the receipt and review of all corporate action notifications

  • Ensure that appropriate documentation is provided to the front office for decisions

  • Work with Portfolio Managers to ensure instructions are received in a timely manner

  • Work with Custodian Banks to ensure all our decisions have been received and acted on

  • Process events within the appropriate systems

  • Confirm action completed in system matches custodian’s record of events

  • File related documentation for each resolved corporate action

  • Work with Custodian Banks, Portfolio Managers and ISS, our third party vendor, to insure all appropriate account’s votes are cast in accordance with our Proxy Voting Guidelines

  • Knowledge of the investment management industry a plus

  • Experience with Collateral and REPO positions involved in Corporate Actions

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

  • Team oriented individual with ability to work well with diverse groups, as well as the ability to work independently.

  • Organized, detail oriented and extremely thorough while having the confidence and communication skills to ensure work processes are completed accurately and appropriately

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to take initiative and critically analyze processes and procedures in a push toward constant improvement

  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products required with a particular emphasis on Excel and Access.

  • Experience in Bloomberg, Blackrock Aladdin and PAM Accounting System a plus

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5+ years of overall work experience (with 2+ years of corporate actions experience)
