We are seeking a dynamic Epic Beacon Application Analyst to join our Epic Beacon team with IS Clinical Systems here at Rush University Medical Center!

This is a Full Time position

80 hours every two weeks

Position Highlights:

The Beacon Analyst provides hands-on expertise to deploy solutions for the Rush enterprise. Under minimal supervision, analyzes problems in terms of systems and programming requirements, as well as policy/procedure and training requirements. Determines system specifications and record layouts and develops procedures to process information by means of information technologies. Advises users and committees on information systems issues. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs analysis, design, development and maintenance of the EpicCare Ambulatory, Beacon and other hospital-related applications with senior analysts

  • Configures vendor applications and products with assistance

  • Maintains system documentation and develops system procedures.

  • Documents user requirements.

  • Learns and understands user department practices and procedures.

  • Coordinates short duration projects; monitoring project process, progress and results.

  • Performs system testing; Prepares test data.

  • Provides on-site user support during implementations.

  • Takes on-call for system application support at scheduled times.

  • Audits data entered by end users.

  • Troubleshoots and tracks issues and problems.

  • Applies systems development methodology to solve problems.

  • Follows Change Management processes.

  • Collaborates with colleagues.

  • Upgrades professional knowledge.

Management

  • Accomplishes tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Monitors own progress and results.

Leadership:

  • Actively suggests changes that enhance IS operations or customer service.

  • Guides Associates.

Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrates experience in specific technologies, applications or platforms.

  • Takes advanced training in certain areas.

  • Responsible for requirements gathering, system builds, and workflow analysis.

Project Planning:

  • Defines tasks, deliverables and estimates the effort required to accomplish them.

  • Accountable for assigned project risks or issues.

Communication

  • Communicates clearly and effectively with Customers to obtain results.

  • Is able to communicate user needs and requests to IS management.

  • Contributes to technical documentation or end user manuals.

  • Informally assists others in learning about the IS or business environment.

  • Demonstrates business or technical expertise through outside learning opportunities (formal training, associations, business groups, etc.)

Business Sense:

  • Understands basic heathcare industry concepts.

  • Has a broad knowledge of application/infrastructure integration and data flow.

  • Identifies and actively participates in areas for improvement within departments and Rush.

Position Qualifications Include :

Knowledge

  • Minimum 2 years' experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree or better in related technical field

  • Experience in Health care environment preferred.

Skills

  • Experience implementing industry best practices to drive optimized operations.

  • Excellent communication skills with technical and clinical audiences

  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Exceptional organizational skills to facilitate work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

Abilities

  • Command of common office tools (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, e-mail)
