Job Summary

Black & Veatch has an exciting position available within our Planning + Asset Management Business Line – with a specific focus on condition assessment and aging infrastructure. The role includes a blend of technical, project management, business development and team building activities. The role offers local, regional, and national opportunities to win and execute interesting, fulfilling work. The role includes working within our Planning + Asset Management Business Line team that spans the US and Canada – an energetic group with a team-first mentality. The role also includes exposure to top leaders within each region. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a regional lead for condition assessment and rehabilitation. This may include specialization in gravity conveyance systems, pressure conveyance systems, structures/equipment or broader experience in a combination of areas.

  • Support broader planning and asset management topics including gravity pipe assessment and rehabilitation, facility assessment, condition and hydraulic/capacity assessment, identification and prioritization of infrastructure needs, application of remediation and rehabilitation methods, and master planning.

  • Support proposal and project execution including project management, scope development, and proposal technical approach drafting. Manage projects as applicable to skill set and/or client relationships. Manage/lead groups as applicable to regional support and/or technical knowledge.

  • Work collaboratively with P+AM leaders to integrate and expand comprehensive asset management approaches into strategic business opportunities.

  • Identify trends and drivers influencing the industry

  • Identify and promote vendor strategies

  • Assess large-scale condition assessment program offering potential

  • Become an integral member of, and promote, our one-group culture among the Region and Business Lines.

  • Mentor select staff for long-term growth

  • Recruit personnel and build effective teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of client development and project execution experience with proven ability in condition assessment and planning & asset management work

  • Professional Engineering registration

  • Experience in a client-facing/business development role

  • Recognized Condition Assessment Leader in the market with knowledge of regional drivers, client needs, and other market influencers

  • Experience leading project teams and executing Condition Assessment projects

  • Experience identifying, developing, and winning Condition Assessment projects

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 15 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
