SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY - Job Summary (general statement of purpose or objective of position)
Responsible for providing professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care. Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff and physicians.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Knowledge, skills, abilities, license, registration, certification, education, and experience
EDUCATION: Education from an ASBN approved program required for license/certification in the specific position.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE: Minimum of one year professional nursing experience, clinic experience preferred. Knowledge of basic nursing principles and protocols. Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality. Demonstrates skill in appropriate assessment/screening and assistance techniques. Skill in appropriate use of universal precautions, safe workplace and confidentiality methods. Ability to remain flexible to the changing demands.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, BONDING: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse as required by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing (ASBN). Current BLS.
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Combination of office and exam settings. Frequent exposure to communicable disease, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, lifting and carrying items, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires working under stressful conditions.
