Eaton Corporation Service Engineer UPS in Guadalajara, Mexico
Eaton’s Power Distribution division is currently seeking a Service Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Guadalajara facility.
The Service Engineer is responsible for Performs emergency and preventative maintenance and installation on a 24/7 on-call basis with regional responsibility. Responsible for performing on-site or in-house servicing, and repair of Company product(s). Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment. Serves as customer contact on technical and service-related problems. Works on assignments that are complex routine in nature when considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Provides field service engineering and technical assistance for customers in the areas of installation, start up, maintenance, repair and modification. Assist with assigned projects for equipment.
Some activities related with the position will be:
Master/Expert for strategic services/ Trainer. 05 to 10 years of UPS servicing experience.
Provide electrical field service engineering for customers at any worldwide location on a flexible time schedule.
Continuously improve personal, technical and professional business skills enabling incumbent to service products to customer’s satisfaction. Incumbent demonstrates an awareness of customer needs, preferences, and time and financial constraints.
Provide timely, detailed and accurate reports on service work performed, product performance, warranty liabilities to company expense and time allocation.
Become computer efficient using laptops provided and mastering all required software.
Maintain all service equipment including all test equipment, safety gear and tools issued to meet specifications including ISO requirements, etc. in good working condition and maintain sufficient spare parts to respond to standard calls.
Follow in strictly manner all safety requirements to accomplish its duties.
Be available for 24-hour on call duty and respond to emergency situations with minimal notification.
Keep current with product technology as measured by ability to troubleshoot and repair various products and to instruct others.
Technical support to sales force or customer in Mexico, Central America and Caribbean.
Basic support functions to software applications sector.
Able to work all kind of capacities (kva).
Uploads all field activity reports, manages assets, controls inventory, completes CSS and submits expenses reports.
Provides technical coaching for other CSE in order to maximize their productivity and efficiency
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electric or Electronic Engineering/equivalent technical training.
4 to 5 years of UPS servicing experience.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills in English Spanish required (90%).
No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area will be considered for this position.
Valid Driver's license
No problem to get Passport and US VISA
Desired experience in UPS market.
Knowledge of Eaton Power Quality products and their applications.

Deep knowledge of UPS, batteries and DC systems
PC Proficiency including knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office, AutoCad and Outlook

Valid electricity installations safety and health training certificate according to each Country legislation
Good written and oral communication skills
Intermediate English skills
Time management skills

Working knowledge of test equipment and diagnostic instruments.
Understand the company’s and competitor’s electrical and electronic products and services.
