Position Summary

The On the Job Training (OJT) team is responsible for supporting the training efforts within the manufacturing processes. This is accomplished through the application of broad knowledge of theories and principles utilized to solve operational, as well as routine tasks in the production of bulk biologics from microbial and cell culture systems for Phase I/II & commercial GMP manufacturing. The goal of the OJT Team is to ensure On the Job Training and associated procedural documentation provides clear guidance for the Manufacturing staff.

The OJT Supervisor is a member of the OJT team within the Manufacturing Technical Operations group, for a Contract Development & Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) performing research, process development and GMP manufacture of biologic bulk drug substances and sterile finished products. The OJT Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of OJT professionals and for providing guidance and oversight of this team in implementing and supporting GMP training for Manufacturing employees. They will be required to work cross functionally with MS&T, PD, Quality and other organizations.

The OJT supervisor is a leader with advance organizational skills and a positive attitude, able to lead multiple individuals and projects. They will be responsible for the delegation of tasks to their team and plays a key role in developing training presentations with subject matter experts on relevant topics, working with Manufacturing Management to develop curricula, providing measures to ensure complete understanding/proficiency, and providing CAPA support stemming from investigations. The OJT Supervisor will regularly interact with individuals at management level within all functional departments at Catalent/Paragon, as well as Clients.

The Role

  • Possesses the knowledge of adult learning theory, training delivery and how to meet the needs of the learner

  • Responsible for managing a team of professional OJT Associates and Specialists

  • Provides oversight and support of training creation, delivery and revision

  • Including OJT documents, job aids, SOPs, or other course material

  • Support internal and external audits, in conjunction with QA GMP Training

  • Lead regular 1 on 1s and team meetings to ensure alignment

  • Lead cross-functional discussions on training needs and/or gaps

  • Assist with embedding training into the Manufacturing departments through a strong relationship with Manufacturing Management

  • Assist in developing training metrics and curricula

  • Work with QA and Quality Systems to review events and deviations related to training

The Candidate

  • B.A./B.S. in a Life Sciences discipline and 5+ years of experience within the biologic, pharmaceutical or medical device industry with responsibilities for performing and/or developing or delivering training to colleagues

  • Train the trainer experience is required

  • SME in Upstream, Downstream, and/or Fill Finish processes preferred

  • Proficiency with electronic systems, including Microsoft Access and Excel

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Have the knowledge, and ability to apply basic scientific and regulatory principles utilized to solve operational, as well as routine Manufacturing operations

  • Demonstrated leadership experience through direct or matrix leadership activities

Please note this is a 24/7 facility, the business may require you to work outside of your regular schedule on occasion.
