Dowhas an exciting opportunity for aReal-time Optimization Engineer. This role can be located at any of our major Technical Expertise & Support (TES) facilities globally.
Real-time Optimization (RTO) engineers provide technical expertise and leadership in process fundamentals and technology. RTO engineers act as internal consultants for Dow identifying opportunities for improving the continuous operation of chemical plants through improving operations and the implementation of RTO Most Effective Technology (MET) applications. Within Dow there are numerous RTO applications and typical RTO applications industry-wide improve asset capability 3-5% and decrease energy intensity 4-6%. Within Dow, RTO applications represent a sizeable economic and environmental impact. RTO engineers are responsible for the implementation, maintenance and support of those applications across the company.
Be accountable for value addition to technology development and implementation, and asset utilization projects by applying advanced process control technology
Consult businesses in identifying opportunities to add value through application of advanced process control technology
Coach and mentor RTO practitioners in the application of RTO and support them through MET development, problem solving and troubleshooting
Participate in the development and implementation of best practices and standards to ensure most effective application of RTO technology. Continuously improve skills in applying RTO technology
Development and implementation of new RTO technologies and applications
Identify and communicate ideas about future application of RTO technology beyond current scope
Actively coach and mentor others in applying RTO.
Help others to improve their work by asking the right questions and challenging their assumptions
Proactively seek opportunities to share personal knowledge within and outside of own work group, cross-functional and cross-business
Effectively use existing knowledge bases in the company to complete work
Create new knowledge bases for others to contribute to and utilize
Develop high potential RTO applications
Implement ideas or concepts into new, practical and value-added activities, tasks or initiatives.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering AND at least 3 years of experience OR a PhD in Engineering is required.
