As a Financial Services Officer you are responsible for interviewing and qualifying members for loans of all types within the requirements of the loan policies established by the Credit Union. You will assist members and businesses with opening new accounts, as well as promote and cross sell Credit Union Services. You are also expected to ensure member satisfaction through courteous, accurate, and efficient service. Spanish speaking ability is preferred.
Interview and review loan applicants, gather needed documents, manage all communication during the loan process, and make sound/effective decisions
Process and disburse loans according to credit union’s guideline
Open new accounts and products, pull credit reports, and analyze eligibility for products and any/all applicable cross-sell opportunities
Be a liaison to business services and products
Maintain in-depth product knowledge on all deposit account products, loan products, mortgage products, and business products
Research and make appropriate corrections for members with account problems
Handle deceased account until the account is closed or owner roles are changed
Notarize documents as determined by branch requirements
Handle forgery claims, levies, and garnishments
Ability to meet performance objectives
Be customer focused with active listening, building and maintaining relationships with ICCU members, and recommend solutions, products, and suggestions
Ability to follow procedures, policies, and regulations
Work weekly and monthly bad data reports
Back up the teller line, as necessary
Other duties as assigned
Spanish speaking ability is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Must possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to determine member needs and promote Credit Union services
Ensure accuracy in all areas of work
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of Credit Union records at all times
Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union
Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.)
Sit/stand for extended periods of time
Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc. Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers. Reach keyboards. Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.)
