Lord Abbett Treasury Analyst – Cash & Liquidity Management in Jersey City, New Jersey

Lord Abbett is seeking an Analyst to join its growing Treasury team which is responsible for maintaining the firm’s financial stability through oversight of its balance sheet, liquidity, and capital structure consistent with the strategic objectives. Reporting to the Treasurer, the Treasury Analyst will play a key role in this rapidly evolving team in its journey towards becoming a world-class function and strategic partner for the firm. The Analyst will support the Treasurer in managing and optimizing the firm’s cash and liquidity through building models & forecasts, developing analytical tools & frameworks, and restructuring the management of corporate liquidity across cash and investment portfolios. Additionally, the Analyst will be responsible for the operational cash management activities within Finance. This role will work with key stakeholders across the firm including the CFO, the broader Finance team, Client Services, Product Strategy, Investments, Risk and Digital Services.

  • Develop cash flow forecasting models and additional analytics to provide increased transparency and understanding of the firm’s cash flows, liquidity and balance sheet

  • Optimize the management of the firm’s liquidity across cash and investments to increase P&L while ensuring the availability of sufficient cash to meet payment obligations

  • Establish and manage a separate account structure to invest the firm’s excess liquidity into higher-yielding securities that is tailored to meet specific firm investment objectives

  • Perform daily and monthly cash management activities, such as cash reconciliation, external and intercompany payment flows, reporting and booking of accruals

  • Operate and maintain bank accounts across the firm and oversee the day-to-day relationship with our bank cash management provider(s)

  • Support the execution of treasury system and process change initiatives, including the implementation of treasury management system tools and enhancement & automation opportunities

  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses in support of the firm’s strategic projects, including identifying and evaluating options to achieve the firm’s stated goals

  • Create presentations for key senior stakeholders such as the Managing Partner, CFO & Executive Committee

  • Establish, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and controls to ensure adherence to company principles and best-in-class standards

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of finance experience, preferably with a focus on treasury aspects of the investment management business

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor as well as the ability to translate these complex analytical concepts into straightforward messages to enable strategic decision-making

  • Proven ability to work efficiently, effectively, and proactively both as part of a team and independently in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

  • Excellent project management skills to lead complex initiatives independently and execute to completion

  • Intellectual curiosity and desire for continual personal and professional growth

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Technical skills include: demonstrated proficiency and expertise with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Power BI); experience using treasury management systems and data visualization (e.g. Tableau) tools; familiarity with programming languages such as SQL, Python, SAS is desirable but not required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar areas of study
