The Walt Disney Company Senior Financial Systems Analyst in Lake Buena Vista, Florida

Job Summary:

At Disney Financial Systems, you will team with the best in the business to create and build in one of the most innovative teams in any industry.

This role is part of the Disney Financial Systems Supply Chain team supporting the inventory and warehouse systems. The position will provide ongoing sustainment support systems for our DPEP (Disney Parks, Experiences and Products) segment. Additional responsibilities include working with finance partners for approval, performing testing efforts to validate financial and functional requirements, and working with IT and business partners to ensure that financial data integrity and controls maintained.


  • Application support for finance and operations end-users

  • Monitor metrics to identify areas of opportunity and execute corrective action

  • Recommend and implement process improvement/reengineering initiatives

  • Interact with IT, other segments and subject matter experts to support system implementations and enhancements

  • Lead and execute project activities to ensure project progresses on schedule

  • Effectively communicate with management, stakeholders, subject matter experts and project team members

  • Perform requirements gathering, solution design, testing, end-user training and communication on projects

  • Promote teamwork across the enterprise both internally and externally

  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with manageable risk and resource requirements

  • Partner with clients to understand pain points and champion process improvements

  • Lead documentation of information for project design documents and functional specifications

  • Monitor industry trends for technology advancements in finance processes and business analytics

  • Apply expert knowledge and understanding of financial and US GAAP accounting principles to our systems, on project work and business processes

  • Proactively identifies issues (data or process) and ensures that appropriate action is taken to resolve issues and communications are sent to keep the end user audiences informed and updated

  • Support the governance and monitoring of finance system compliance in accordance with company policies, standards and SOX requirements

  • Concisely develops and delivers key information; ability to develop enhancements presentations partnering with communications and training team

  • Convey relevant information in a timely and concise manner

  • Support on larger projects as a testing/SME resource

  • Submit governance requests for all warehouses – Security

  • Submit governance requests for all warehouses – Master Data Maintenance

  • Monitor the SAP PTP Warehouse generic Outlook mailbox

  • Participate in the Major Technical Release testing using both Panaya and ALM systems

  • Perform job role audits – (user security)

  • Prepare monthly project status update

  • Create and monitor SAP WBS numbers for labor charging on projects

  • Run small Winshuttle files, as needed

  • Attend PTP Champion’s quarterly meetings

  • Send out SAP outage communications

  • Create and submit enhancement requests in Service NOW

  • Create and run test scripts in ALM for transports to be approved

  • Assist with Obsolescence write-offs

  • Trouble shoot abnormalities with inventory movement postings

  • Manage SharePoint maintenance & team access

  • Consultant process support: request charge numbers, create shopping cart for purchase orders and process Invoices for payment

  • Support DPEP projects as a testing/SME resource

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years of demonstrated high-level professional knowledge and skills in finance and/or supply chain systems and processes

  • Experience working for large company and within a matrix organization

  • Passion for and knowledge of emerging technologies to deliver best practice Supply Chain solutions ensuring financial systems integrity and controls

  • Experience in Financial Systems and/or Supply Chain (specifically warehouse operations) area for business and technical audiences.

  • Experience supporting change for large projects that encompass front of house and back of house finance/accounting and integration to SAP ensuring financial integrity

  • Demonstrate multi-tasking and project management skills to manage workload from logistics to strategic efforts, while adhering to deadlines and high quality

  • Experienced in using the Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to develop a logical and persuasive approach and outline for a “deck”

  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility with internal clients and to navigate organizational structures.

  • Proven ability to collaborate, establish relationships, and build credibility with employees and teams

  • Demonstrated self-starter

  • Ability to understand and adapt to different audiences and clients

  • Experience with small to medium projects that encompass front of house and back of house finance/accounting with integration to SAP ensuring financial integrity

  • Demonstrate multi-tasking skills to manage workload while adhering to deadlines and high quality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or CMA license, or equivalent

  • PMP or other professional project management certification

  • Six Sigma certification

  • Advanced experience using the Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project)

  • Experience in using SAP or another ERP (specifically the Warehouse and supply chain functionality)

  • Experienced with Business Warehouse, Business Objects and/or Cognos reporting tools

  • Experience implementing financial processes and systems

  • Experience using systems designed to manage issues, changes and testing (e.g. Service Now, JIRA, Confluence, ALM)

  • Experience using collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams, Workfront, Zoom, Skype, Slack)

  • IBM Sterling OMS experience

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Business, Information Technology, or a related field

Preferred Education

  • Graduate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Business, Information Technology, or a related field (e.g., MBA, MIS)
