Aerotek Production Worker in Lexington, Kentucky
Avon makes armor for the military. They manufacture ceramic components by preparing tools, hot pressing, and cleaning various types of compositions while adhering to all safety and quality standards. It is working in a hot, dirty environment.
Will be working with a black carbide powder. There will be a 2 week training program where candidates will be evaluated and placed where Avon thinks they will be successful.
Mostly 1st shift positions open
Most will start at 5am and work 10-12 hour days
Some positions 4 x 10s
Not working this now, but most will go to a 2x2x3 schedule
Avon does not hire for specific positions. There are a number of different positions, and they will move people around based on A)Where the need is and B)
Cold Press (press machine operator)
Armor grind - using die grinders to smooth edges
Foiling - putting foil on spacers
Post process - documentation and cleaning of plates

MUST BE EITHER OR PERMANENT RESIDENT
Prefers at least 1 year of CONTINUOUS manufacturing experience. Really want someone who will show up to work. The 1 year of continuous is to screen out and improve turnover.
