Develop a student in the Environmental, Health and/or Safety (EHS) discipline through assignments that are planned to provide experience and familiarization with the technical staff, methods, practices and programs of the company and assigned area.
After initial orientation and training, performs limited assignments of specific tasks focused on maintaining compliance and providing technical support to problem resolution.
The key role ofthis internship isto learn and assist: to gain an understanding of Caterpillar’s business, systems and procedures; to learn and develop skills which result from the practical application of basic scientific knowledge; and to provide assistance, where applicable and able, to a project team or others in the workgroup.
Uses readily available clear and direct references.
Collects and evaluates data and develops plans for assignments. May expect to have direct contact with other team members andsuppliers.
Assist in inspections and tests planned to provide experience and familiarization with company operations, specific EHS issues and regulations, and company practices.
Assist in collection and evaluation of data.
Assists experienced professionals in developingsolutions and/ordelivering training.
Candidate must currently be enrolled in College or Universitypursuing a technical or scientific degree.
3.0 GPA or above.
Must be 18 years of age.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
