ERM Risk Manager Job Description
As a Risk Manager within Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), you will have the opportunity to apply customer-centric, strategic thinking and analysis to some of the most high profile risk reporting and initiatives at Capital One. Areas of focus include a mix of recurring and transformative initiatives such as drafting quarterly reporting to the Board of Directors on the company’s risk profile, and creating innovative approaches to identify, monitor, and address existing and emerging risks.

Partner with risk teams across the company to develop reporting solutions
Improve upon existing processes and products to deliver more consumable, actionable insights
Develop new and unique approaches for identifying, assessing and monitoring risk
Apply a strategic, customer-centric lens to transform our risk management practices
Responsibilities:
Communication
- Develop insightful, consumable reporting that drives executive action
Analysis
Utilize qualitative and quantitative analysis to identify and monitor risk themes
Conduct supporting internal and external research to ground risk assessments
Leverage root-cause analysis to identify key issues and define optimal next steps
Program and Product Leadership
Create customer centric (i.e., Board of Directors to Associates) risk reporting solutions that enable decision-making
Apply process management principles (e.g., lean, six sigma) to ensure well managed reporting programs and continuous improvement
Develop strategies to improve risk reporting and analysis using data and technology
Drive collaboration and change across various risk programs and business areas
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 1 year of experience in Financial Services
At least 2 years of internal or external consulting experience
At least 2 years of risk management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Risk Management certification (such as CERA, CRM, FRM), or equivalent experience
At least 3 years of internal or external consulting experience
At least 5 years of risk management experience
