Thermo Fisher Scientific Operator I - Molding / 1st Shift in Millersburg, Pennsylvania

Essential Functions:

  • Manually assemble complex tubing and connectors to be used in the medical industry.

  • Read intricate manufacturing drawings and follow standard operating procedures.

  • Manufacture assemblies utilizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instruction Documents (WID) in accordance with product blueprint.

  • Utilize batch records to record and complete accurate documentation of processes according to GMP requirements.

  • Drive a culture of safety and quality in all activities.

  • Responsible for performing visual inspection on in-process and finished products to ensure quality and escalate when appropriate.

  • Working with a team in a fast-paced environment assembling complex product.

  • Be an advocate and participant in the Lean PPI (Practical Process Improvement) culture through Tier boards, GEMBA, JDI/Hazard IDs, RCCM, 5S and/ or Kaizen events.

  • Coach other operators on safety, quality, and performance standards.

  • Drive improvements: Identify and suggest improvements to maintain or improve safety, quality, and work processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to promote a fully inclusive and cohesive team environment

  • Production experience in a CGMP or Lean manufacturing environment

  • Ability to follow complex procedures and plan ahead for smooth operations.

  • Ability to perform repetitive work duties.

  • Attention to detail while maintaining a quality product.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication.

  • Intermediate math skills

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced controlled cleanroom environment 8 hours a day with additional overtime as required for production schedule adherence.

  • The Clean room is controlled environment for temperature and humidity having low ambient noise.

  • Specific gowning is required including gloves, hair & beard net and face cover, safety glasses with no makeup / jewelry, and the like.

  • Ability to use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and understand chemical hygiene.

Must have ability to do the following activities:

  • Follow all safety protocols.

  • Drive quality in all activities.

  • Stand and move about including reaching, bending, stooping, and grasping.

  • Use hand tools and equipment including forceful gripping, grasping, pushing, and pulling.

  • Infrequently lift and manipulate up to 50 pounds max unassisted; Frequently lift and manipulate up to 30 pounds.
