Zimmerman Advertising Sr. Media Buyer in REMOTE (Work From Home), United States

The Sr. Media Buyer coordinates media buying efforts of accounts including research, negotiating, buying and posting all facets of market/accounts on a local and/or national level.


  • Negotiates best pricing and places commercials with broadcast television/cable and radio media for accounts within an assigned group of markets.

  • Estimates, updates and adjusts all broadcast ratings. Keeps up with industry news, methodology and metric changes and market trends and innovations.

  • Negotiates added value.

  • Evaluates sponsorships and sports packages

  • Executes all Media plans while adhering to established budgets, goals and timelines.

  • Clearly and accurately communicates orders and changes to media vendors.

  • Monitor buys in progress, manage the day-to-day media schedules, arranges for makegoods and credits.

  • Obtain pre and post log times to ensure buys are running correctly.

  • Responsible for the post-buy results of all buys and receipt of under-delivery.

  • Collaborates with accounting and media team members and media planners to resolve media billing issues.

  • Maintaining station relationships

Required Skills


  • 5+ years previous experience as a media buyer

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with well-developed telephone skills: outgoing and comfortable relating to people

  • Self-motivated, a desire for challenge and ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Good computer skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Proficient use of Strata (Freewheel) and other buying resources a plus

  • Possess/portray a strong positive, professional attitude at all times and work effectively in a team environment

  • Highly dependable, organized and detail-oriented; great focus

  • Strong analytical and research skills

  • Well-developed, proven research skills such as Qualitative, Quantitative, Trends, Hour-By-Hour day part planning, Zip code analysis

  • Ability to plan/negotiate strategic media recommendations

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities

  • Skilled in prioritizing and adapting to new projects throughout the day with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work in an environment of fast-paced change while maintaining focus

  • Excellent at setting and meeting deadlines, extremely organized and great with time management with the ability to work well under pressure.
