Covenant Transport Services Operations Supervisor in San Bernardino, California

The Operations Supervisor will handle all aspects of the day to day shift operation within their assigned department(s) for the MCX-West processing site, ensuring all KPI’s for the shift are met and the next shift is set up for success which will allow the building to meet the operation and profitability goals.

  • Safety & Planning

  • Administering of monthly safety training for the team

  • All Safety documents are signed off on and returned to management in timely manner

  • All PPE is provided as required and used as instructed

  • Observance in compliance with OSHA and building regulations

  • Labor Planning

  • Review daily workload and conduct daily start up meetings

  • Run weekly productivity for performance tracking

  • Run daily productivity for performance tracking

  • Track and train associates to maximize utilization

  • Remove excessive labor for profitability and efficiency

  • Utilize labor for VAS (value added services)

  • Plan labor to meet building productivity and quality standards

  • Reporting

  • Summary of daily key metrics

  • Damage product management / processing.

  • Product aging / expiry management

  • Action plans for continuous improvement

  • Summary of performance tracking

  • Discipline/Coaching

  • Must enforce company disciplinary standards when needed and document any and all instances accordingly.

  • Must administer all disciplinary documentation and return to management accordingly.

  • Develop Staff by Cross Training/On-Job Training

  • Train, motivate and assist in the development and growth of employees

  • Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of Covenant Transport Services.

  • Maintain a cross training matrix for all associates

  • Capture relevant information to be used during review periods

  • Coach performance and recognize assigned team of associates

  • Challenge employees to be more productive and accurate

  • Implement and maintain continuous improvement program

    A. KPI Support/Expectations · Ensure Daily shift KPIs are met · Perform root cause and corrective action for KPI issues within team · Support ‘5S’ Standards · Daily Housekeeping inspections with Feedback · Operation of RF Devices and other critical tools for daily use · Quality Compliance


  • Requires eyesight and hearing for computer and forklifts in the area

  • Requires color-sight for color-coded items, clear speech for communicating

  • Ability to hear, see, and speak; in person, or by computer, telephone, 2-way radio, cell phone

  • Analytical and problem solving ability

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 2 to 3 Years Supervisory experience required

  • Food grade facility experience, a plus

  • Warehouse leadership, a plus

  • Forklift license, a plus

  • Know or be able to learn WMS and customer ERP if necessary

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required

  • HighJump WMS experience, a plus

  • SAP experience, a plus
