How you will make an impact:

We are looking for a highly experienced and self-motivated individual to develop high resolution LCMS applications for oligonucleotides and mRNA analysis to meet biopharmaceutical industry's needs. As a member of the Thermo Fisher Scientific Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical Vertical Marketing Applications Team (Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry), you will work within a highly matrixed organization to advance our thought leadership position within the regulated laboratory space.

What you will do:

  • Understand customer's business and analytical challenges and needs during nucleic acid drug discovery, development, manufacturing and quality control

  • Provide scientific guidance for strategic collaborations with KOLs

  • Creation of scientific proof statements for new chromatography, mass spectrometry, and software products relevant to the Pharma and Biopharma market

  • Align and prioritize application development with marketing strategies and priorities

  • Propose, design, and execute application plan to show case Thermo Fisher Scientific's analytical instrument portfolio for nucleic acid drug characterization and quality control

  • Proactively and timely address issues and challenges by providing regular feedback with product centers to address defects and feature gaps

  • Create, design, conduct & implement the experiments for advanced method development from sample preparation to LCMS analysis and data analysis

  • Generate compelling collateral assets (including but not limited to customer facing seminar modules, application notes, white papers and peer review publications) to demonstrate the competitive advantage of the application methods/solutions developed

  • Provide guidance and sales training material to educate and enable sales to demonstrate the application generated for commercial success

  • Present Thermo Fisher Scientific products and application solutions at meetings, conferences and seminars

How you will get here:

Education:

  • M.Sc. degree required, preferably in Analytical Chemistry or a related technical field.

  • PhD degree preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience developing LCMS-based methods for Oligonucleotide/mRNA and their delivery system characterization in a biopharmaceutical/biotech/CxO, an instrumentation company, or a research institute.

  • Understanding the process and structure/function relationship of these molecules is a strong plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Excellent oral / written communication and presentation skills are a necessity

  • Must demonstrate technical knowledge and ability to present to others in a clear and concise manner.

  • Highly motivated team member with strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact and communicate with internal partners and customers.

  • Ability to travel up to 30%
