Senior Security Engineer Who We Are The Network Services Business Unit (NSBU) was created to accelerate the transition of Cisco’s portfolio to as-a-Service and consumption offers. What You’ll Do Define and drive the change that is happening in Cisco's networking and IT systems. Be the first Sr. Security Engineer to build networking solutions with the latest, groundbreaking designs and products. Realize the value of being the first customer of our own products. * Design documentation based upon agreed architecture * Build and execute lab and proof of concept environments * Build and design automation for testing and production deployment * Lead all aspects of the maintenance and operation of network and security infrastructures * Install manufacturer recommended firmware * Execute on work tickets crafted for change orders or break fix * Monitor Cisco infrastructure and services 24*7 * Respond to work tickets or monitoring alerts 8x5 * Configure new and existing devices * Detail technical specifications and change orders via JIRA and internal Wiki's * Solve break-fix reports and drive RCA efforts * Adhere to agreed-upon SLA's defining uptime, maintenance, response and documentation * Provide valuable security improvements for enterprise IaaS, PaaS and SaaS * Keep abreast of cybersecurity trends, technology, and threats Who You Are: As someone who resonates with our company culture, you accept the new over the unknown, you place the speed and agility of results over perfection, you are passionate about positive outcomes as opposed to adhering to a strict process, and you see leadership as a function of doing and influencing. Your experience will include the following: * Firsthand experience with Cisco enterprise security and identity products preferred, 7-10 years * Expertise in cloud-based security stacks provided by one or more cloud providers - AWS, GCP, Azure - 1-2 years * Direct knowledge of Cisco cloud-based firewalls and Umbrella security capabilities - 1-2 Years * Experience with defining and implementing cloud security policies via CASB and/or other methods * A solid grasp of relevant security & networking basics and cloud security & automation paradigms and traditions, including Linux networking and automation deployment, as well as hands on experience with multi-vendor firewall such as PaloAlto, Fortigate, Checkpoint etc * Extensive practice deploying and operating reliable, serviceable infrastructure in enterprise networks using Cisco SD-WAN technology, 3-5 years * Preferred experience with lifecycle automation using tools like Ansible, Python, Cisco NSO * A deep understanding of micro-service architecture and principles while crafting and deploying service monitoring and cloud-based observability tools * A passion for innovation and the motivational curiosity to stays ahead of evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education * Experience with Cisco ASA and FTD Some of the minimum requirements for the job include: * Bachelor of Science Degree and/or 10+ years of relevant experience preferred * Any Cisco and Public Cloud Certification is preferred * CCIE security is a plus We Are Cisco At Cisco, each person brings their unique talents to work as a team and make a difference.
