Cyber Security Systems Engineer Position Overview:

We are looking for a dynamic technical individual who can develop and drive Cyber Security, Information Assurance, & Anti-Tamper solution for airborne electro-optic systems.

Performance Objectives:

The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job:

  • Analyze product security posture to create current state assessment, gap analysis, and strategic implementation roadmaps adhering to customer and regulatory requirements

  • Perform requirements analysis and develop strategies and solutions for Cyber Security, Information Assurance, Anti-Tamper, & Risk Mitigation,

  • Performing risk remediation cost-benefit-analysis for a variety of solutions

  • Developing and integrating cybersecurity reporting for program security, risk, compliance against regulatory standards (e.g. DOD, CMMC, IA, AT etc.)

  • Design/develop Cyber Security architectures, define key capabilities and performance requirements

  • Define Cyber Security, IA & AT approach and operational concepts

  • Develop models and architectural guidelines for future technologies

  • Perform system and subsystem integration, technical risk assessment, technical planning, verification and validation, and supportability analyses

  • Understand and implement systems engineering processes on programs and projects.

  • Create and update essential engineering documents including specifications, reports, plans, technical memos, and presentations

  • Coordinate with other functional engineers to develop and test products, resolve compatibility and interface problems with other subsystems

    Competencies:

  • Technical Acumen – demonstrated through successful product and systems development experiences involving Cyber Security, Information Assurance, and Anti-Tamper techniques.

  • Requirements Development – demonstrated ability to enter the customer’s environment, discover how the customer will use the system, translate the voice of customer into models & requirements; additional skill in successfully influencing system at the end customer desired

  • Creative Solutions – direct contribution to solutions that integrate multiple disciplines and technologies into system architectures; requires understanding of end-user mission objectives as well as interplay between technologies and engineering design

  • System Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis – a track record of developing solutions for operational environments, performing trade studies, comparing alternative architectures, pragmatic estimation of unknown parameters

    Basic Qualifications & Education:

  • Education – B.S. Degree in engineering, physical science or mathamatics, M.S. Degree preferred

  • Experience – 10+ years of related experience

  • Understanding of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC)

  • Experience with Information Assurance (IA) implementation

  • Experience with Anti-Tamper (AT) implementation

  • Front-end concept development for new products

  • System-level requirements verification including analysis, testing, & demonstration

  • Project Engineering/Program Management of aerospace products

  • Understanding of defense products for the environments and platforms L3Harris supports

  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills

  • Excellent organization and multi-tasking abilities with the ability to resolve conflicting priorities

  • Must be able to communicate clearly (written and verbal) to technical and non-technical personnel

  • Ability to effectively plan and organize projects and manage priorities

  • Acute attention to detail and deadlines

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Active US Government Security Clearance preferred. Able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET clearance.

  • Pre-employment drug screening and background checks are standard

  • Visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information

  • Able to use a computer/keyboard for extended periods of time

  • May be required to lift up to 20 lbs, with assistance

  • Able to use office & test equipment and computers/peripherals in a standard office & computer lab environment

  • Fast paced, schedule-driven environment; Some stress related to making decisions with ambiguous information

  • Willing and able to work extended hours when necessary –Domestic travel up to 20% possible
