Neighborhood Health Association (NHA), a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is the largest community health center system in Northwest Ohio with partnerships that include ProMedica, Mercy Health, and University of Toledo Medical Center. NHA has grown from a single location in 1969 to 12 medical and dental clinics throughout Lucas County. General Function: Under the supervision of the Quality Improvement (QI) Director; assists in the development, implementation and monitoring of a training program for electronic medical (health) records within the health centers. Analyzes health center workflow as it relates to the and billing and reporting. Performs medical records audits. Provides reports on quality improvement and utilization management initiatives. Researches and assists in the development of policy related to the EHR and the delivery of health care services. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: andmiddot; Responsible for developing, implementing and providing EHR training for NHA health center clinical staff and contracted clinical staff. Monitors on-going training so as to ensure effective workflow including appropriate documentation within the EHR system so as to maximize revenue. andmiddot; Works with individuals within the health centers to establish and continually improve health center workflow related to the EHR and collection of billing and reporting data. Provides technical assistance and guidance to health center staff and contractors. andmiddot; Educates and trains staff on EHR templates, reports, policy, and established performance measures (i.e., Uniform Data Set (UDS), Meaningful Use (MU), and Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH)). Works with staff to collect data for successful submission and payment of performance measures. Assists with compliance to budgetary and program requirements through the effective use of the EHR. andmiddot; Engages staff in participating in quality improvement activities related to EHR and assists in developing a culture of quality regarding the EHR. andmiddot; Works with all staff members within NHA (i.e, Information Technology (IT) and Finance) to ensure concerns/issues related to the EHR are resolved. andmiddot; Collects, analyzes data, and develops reports to assist individuals and committees in quality improvement and utilization management processes. andmiddot; Monitors and provides recommendations regarding quality improvement and utilization management processes. andmiddot; Assists with coordinating and/or performing medical records audits, in the EHR, and based on the review, develops and implements additional training. Assists in conducting internal audits through the EHR system to verify proper practices are being followed including billing and reporting activities. andmiddot; Must adhere to departmental standards to HIPPA and other privacy concerns. Skills/Qualifications: andmiddot; Graduate from a Medical Assistant program preferred andmiddot; Minimum of 1 years of clinical or medical records experience andmiddot; Six (6) months experience using an electronic health record system. andmiddot; Ability to operate a PC/laptop computer with the ability to effectively enter and retrieve information from a computer. andmiddot; Competencies in the areas of leadership and team development, coaching and
