The Associate Director, Strategic Messaging sits within the Clinical Development Operations (CDO) organization and is responsible for crafting the messaging and content development framework that reinforces AbbVie’s commitment to diverse, inclusive and patient-centric clinical research programs. This role will report into the Director, Diversity and Patient Inclusion.
Develop the messaging and content development framework that supports the AbbVie Clinical Trial External Identity Strategy developed by the Director, Clinical Trial Partnerships
Collaborate with corporate communications on launch and ongoing messaging for ADMIRE ( A dvancing D iversity M atters through I nclusive R epresentation and E quity) clinical trial diversity engagement program on all internal and external facing content
Develop a communication plan for the PRAISE ( P atient, R ecognition, A wareness, and I nclusion in S ustained E ngagement) internal-facing program aimed to elevate the patient’s profile internally through a series of internal events and communications
Align with the Diversity in Clinical Trials’ messaging framework to curate proof-points to demonstrate AbbVie’s commitment to diverse, inclusive and patient-centric clinical research programs
Mentor team members to provide strategic guidance on developing strategic narratives to enable strong cross-functional influence that drives behavior changes
Generate new techniques to drive continuous improvement of effective communication
Survey global landscape for external communication US/OUS opportunities that include speaking events, key lists, and award opportunities
Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field required, Advanced degree is desirable.
Minimum of 10 years + of strategic communication experience in pharma
Understanding of the clinical trial landscape is desirable.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; innovative approach to creative execution
Committed to the principles that underpin AbbVie’s efforts to drive diverse, inclusive and patient-centric clinical research programs
